ICC Sydney looks to grow AV talent with opening of applications for grad program
Sydney’s convention centre is looking for its next batch of audio visual talent for its AV Graduate Program.

Now looking to fill places in its sixth year of the program, those accepted will spend 12 months with the venue, undertaking quarterly rotations through production areas including audio, vision, lighting, rigging and staging.

The program gives participants real-world experience working on significant business events and live entertainment events being hosted at the venue during the graduate year and a possible opportunity to continue working at the convention centre beyond the program.

“For the graduates, the ICC Sydney AV Graduate Program is a proven pathway to gain invaluable experience working on complex and creative events – with the mentoring opportunities available to them being a significant benefit,” said ICC Sydney’s director of audio visual services, Brian Nash.

“Previously, we have progressed 100 per cent of the graduates to casual and permanent roles at the venue.

“The AV Graduate Program also bolsters our support for client events, as we broaden the capability of our diverse, inclusive and multi-generational team.”

ICC Sydney CEO, Adam Mather-Brown, said the AV Graduate Program showcased the culture of the venue’s AV department.

“Brian Nash’s leadership of our Audio Visual Services Department has been instrumental in fostering a culture of innovation, constant improvement and technical excellence – and the outcomes of the AV Graduate Program are testament to this.

“Each year, selected candidates have the opportunity to grow their skills across a multitude of AV disciplines.”

The AV grad program is one of several pathways into the events and hospitality industry offered by ICC Sydney. Others include a First Nations employment program and an international culinary services Internship program.

Those interested in being considered for the AV grad program can apply via the ICC Sydney website.
