Rotorua roadshow headed to Australia’s east coast
Rotorua’s business events team will hit four Australian cities in early September to drum up interest in the North Island destination in New Zealand.

RotoruaNZ is inviting event planners in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast to meet the team and 14 business events and attraction operators to discover more about the destination famous for its thermal springs, strong Māori culture and adventure activities.

The roadshow will stop in Melbourne on September 2, Sydney on September 3, the Gold Coast on September 4 and Brisbane on September 5. Each event will take place at lunchtime and will include a cultural competency speaker, cocktails and lunch.

“We hope that Australian event planners will leave the Rotorua Roadshow with a strong understanding of Rotorua’s unique offerings and our capabilities to successfully host conferences, incentives and events,” said RotoruaNZ’s business events manager, Vanessa Wallace.

“For planners who haven’t been to Rotorua in a while, now is the perfect time to rediscover what makes our destination truly special for business events.

“Rotorua has evolved, blending our rich Māori heritage with modern amenities to create a compelling and unique environment for conferences and incentives.

“Our natural geothermal wonders, stunning landscapes and deep cultural connections offer experiences that you won’t find anywhere else.

“We’ve also invested in enhancing our facilities and services, ensuring that we can meet the needs of any event, large or small.”

The Rotorua team are fresh from hosting New Zealand’s flagship business events tradeshow MEETINGS in June, which Wallace said was a “resounding success”.

“Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive,” she said.

“Many highlighted the seamless organisation and the warm hospitality they experienced, as well as the distinctive cultural elements that set Rotorua apart.

“Planners were particularly impressed by the immersive experiences we offer, which they felt would add significant value to their events.”

For those who weren’t able to make it to MEETINGS – and even those who were – the roadshow will provide an opportunity to meet key players in Rotorua’s business events ecosystem, including representatives from the destination’s first five-star hotel, Pullman Rotorua, Rotorua’s new and award-winning Wai Ariki Hot Springs & Spa and the cultural and geothermal marvel Te Puia and the New Zealand Māori Arts and Crafts Institute.
