Think Business Events has successfully become one of just five Australian PCOs accredited by the International Association of Professional Conference Organisers (IAPCO).

With offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide, Think Business Events has been operating for two decades, since its founding in 2006. Over this time, it has delivered more than 300 conferences in Australia and around the world.

“This recognition reflects the strength of our team, our long-standing client relationships and the way our role has evolved from delivering events to partnering strategically with organisations to achieve their goals,” said the company’s co-founder, Kim Stevenson.

The PCO has grown in recent years, expanding into Adelaide in 2023.

“Being part of IAPCO connects us with a community of leading PCOs around the world who are shaping the future of conferences,” said Think Business Events’ other co-founder, Denise Broeren.

“It allows us to bring new ideas, insights and innovation back to our clients and the Australian events sector.”

Other IAPCO-accredited PCOs with a presence in Australia are ICMS, Arinex, MCI and The Conference Company.

Meanwhile ICMS Australasia – distinct from the aforementioned ICMS – has held its company conference at the just-opened Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Exhibition Centre, which made its debut in late June.

Alongside exploring topics including artificial intelligence and working in high pressure environments, the group took part in activities beyond the convention centre that gave them a taste of Geelong. The company also held a dinner to mark the company’s 60th anniversary at Higher Mark inside Geelong’s GMHBA Stadium.

“The venue is first-rate and co-located [with] wonderful hotel infrastructure,” said ICMS Australasia’s CEO, Emma Bowyer of the new convention centre.

“I commend GM Rick Aylett on the success of the launch of Nyaal Banyul, and I also commend Business Events Geelong on showcasing a product that I know many of our clients are going to want to utilise in the future. They both played an instrumental part in the success of the ICMSA 2026 Company Conference.

“The conference is a great way for the entire team to come together as one.

“They have just come off the back of eight events during the month of June, taking our total number of conferences for the first half of the year to 17.

“We continue to grow, adding four more staff this year who are headlong into managing events that will deliver another record year for us as a company.”
