Nearly 900 Meriton Suites to open in just over a month
Canberra, Melbourne and Western Sydney are getting sizeable accommodation boosts in August and September.

Homegrown Australian accommodation brand, Meriton Suites, owned by Australian billionaire Harry Triguboff, is opening $400 million of one, two and three bedroom apartment hotel rooms in 37 days, this month and next, across CBD properties in Canberra and Melbourne, as well as a 229-room property in Liverpool, in Western Sydney.

Meriton Suites Canberra opened on August 19 in the national capital, offering 280 rooms within five minutes’ walk of the National Convention Centre Canberra.

In Sydney, Meriton Suites Liverpool will open on September 23, under half an hour’s drive from the site of Sydney’s second international airport, set to open at Badgery’s Creek in 2026, as a transit port for 10 million passengers a year from its first year of operation. Alongside the airport, a new metropolis, Bradfield is expected to become a hub for advanced industries including aerospace and defence, manufacturing, healthcare, freight and logistics, agribusiness and education.

Meanwhile, Meriton Suites Melbourne will open on September 26, with 378 rooms, 11 minutes’ walk from Marvel Stadium and under 15 minutes’ walk from Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

“We’re delighted to be opening three new Meriton Suites hotels across the nation, another big step for the company,” said Triguboff, founder and managing director of Meriton Group.

“Our investment into these new markets is a clear demonstration of our confidence in the continued growth of the domestic and international inbound markets, and the ongoing demand for luxury apartment-style hotels for the modern traveller.”
