The likes of Auckland Convention Bureau, Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre, Conference Innovators, The Conference Company, ChristchurchNZ, the University of Canterbury and Auckland University of Technology have been shortlisted in multiple categories, including recognition for individual team members.
Te Pae is a finalist for the Outstanding Marketing Award and the Excellence in Environmental Sustainability Award, while also being part of a multi-organisation nominated entry for the Outstanding Partnership Award.
A collaboration between Auckland Convention Bureau and Auckland Transport has been shortlisted for both the Legacy Impact Award and the Innovation Award, which the Auckland bureau’s head, Ken Pereira, is a finalist for the Exceptional Business Events Professional Award.
Georgia Watson from Conference Innovators and Victoria Wynne from Auckland University of Technology have both been shortlisted for the Emerging Business Events Professional Award while their organisations, along with partners, are both in the running for the Outstanding Partnership Award.
Meanwhile a collaboration between The Conference Company, the University of Canterbury and ChristchurchNZ is shortlisted in two categories – the Legacy Impact Award and the Outstanding Partnership Award.
Other organisations up for awards include the New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC), Venues Wellington, the Eden Park Trust, Eden Park Catering, LivewireAV and Vidcom and Tourism New Zealand Business Events.
Those nominated for individual awards include Aleisha Thorne from Theme Productions, Zoe Lloyd from Food Envy, Kim Milne from Orbit World Travel and Australia’s Sharon Auld in her role with Business Events Industry Aotearoa (BEIA).

“Our industry is built on incredibly talented people and teams who put so much into creating great experiences and delivering exceptional events.
“The Bizzies give us an opportunity to recognise that work, share the stories behind it and celebrate the contribution our industry makes across Aotearoa.”
Winners of The Bizzies will be announced on October 28 at Te Pae Christchurch, on the first night of the BEIA conference.
“The calibre of this year’s entries reflects the excellence we see right across our industry, and the incredible talent we have here in Aotearoa,” said the other co-chair of The Bizzies Alana Bicknell.
“The Bizzies exist to shine a light on that excellence, and I’m looking forward to a fantastic night celebrating our finalists at Te Pae in Christchurch.”
