Produced in partnership with MEETINGS
Business Events Industry Aotearoa’s 28th annual MEETINGS exhibition on 19 and 20 June is set to be New Zealand’s must-attend event for conference, incentive and meeting organisers. The MEETINGS 2024 hosted buyer programme is open to key decision makers and organisers of all business events, including conferences, trade shows and travel incentives from Australia and New Zealand.
With all 18 regions of New Zealand on show under one roof at Rotorua’s Energy Events Centre, buyers will have their pick of the best products, services, venues, hospitality and creative ideas across two days packed with activities.
This year, for the first time, hosted buyers are invited to celebrate Matariki – the Māori New Year – with a special Matariki dinner on 19 June hosted by RotoruaNZ. This has never been done before at MEETINGS and will be a unique opportunity to witness Māori New Year in Rotorua and to honour the appearance of the Matariki constellation in the skies over Aotearoa New Zealand.
Throughout the week, Rotorua’s geothermal natural wonders, beautiful lakeside, and rich culture will be on show for MEETINGS’ guests. From the moment they arrive, visitors will be embraced with the manaakitanga (warm hospitality) of this region. The MEETINGS Welcome Function on 18 June includes a full pōwhiri (welcome ceremony) from local iwi, Ngāti Whakaue. And the MEETINGS Celebration on 20 June will once again be a much-anticipated finale to a high-energy event.
Wrapped around MEETINGS are options to experience the region and New Zealand before and after the event, taking in unique venues and activities in spectacular locations. MEETINGS has partnered with Hobbiton™ Movie Set Tours to offer pre and post visits where buyers can experience the brand-new Bagshot Row™ development. Host city Rotorua is offering a not-to-be-missed destination famil on Tuesday 18 June, and hosted buyers can choose to join a two-day famil for a deep dive into the Rotorua region before MEETINGS kicks off.
Hosted Buyer Applications close on 19 April. For day buyers, free registration includes priority entry to MEETINGS’ education sessions, networking activities, plus complimentary return transport to Rotorua from Auckland.
