Accor and Sun Group sign major deal in Vietnam

The expanded partnership between Sun Group and the hotel operator will see more than 5,300 hotel room keys added to Vietnamese destinations over the next five years.

The new Accor inventory is particularly focussed on the island of Phu Quoc and the central Vietnam city of Danang.

As part of the deal between the two visitor economy giants, four Accor brands will enter the Vietnam market for the first time: Sofitel, Swissôtel, TRIBE and SO/.

Accor brands already in Vietnam including MGallery, Grand Mercure and ibis Styles will see their presence in the country grow.

“We remain focused on expanding our network in destinations that offer travellers more meaningful ways to connect with the culture and natural beauty of the country.

“These developments will bring a diverse mix of brands and experiences to market, creating new opportunities for tourism and contributing to Vietnam’s continued growth on the global stage.”

The first properties to open as part of the new deal include the 250-key Bana Hills Hotel Danang – MGallery  Collection and, on Phu Quoc, the 180-key Ruby Beach Hotel – MGallery Collection, the 300-key SO/ Phu Quoc Ruby Beach, the 250-key Grand Mercure Phu Quoc Ruby Beach, the 321-key TRIBE Hon Thom Phu Quoc and the 588-key ibis Styles Hon Thom Phu Quoc.
