The latest installation brings the total LED in Royal ICC Halls to 122m2, following earlier installations of two other 12m-wide screens by the venue’s in-house AV supplier Microhire.
Located in Hall C, the screens are the first of their kind in a Brisbane event venue.
The three screens can hang at different heights and be lowered to stage level to create a visually arresting flexible stage piece. However, the trio of screens cannot be combined into a single screen.
“The new 36m LED capability gives our clients even more creative freedom when designing their events,” said Brisbane Showgrounds’ general manager of venue sales and marketing Jago Coyle.
“Whether it’s a large-scale conference requiring a panoramic display or an awards night with a striking stage backdrop, this technology allows organisers to create more immersive and memorable moments for their guests.
“The ability to configure the screens in different ways means we can support a wider range of event formats, while giving clients greater flexibility, impact and value within the event space.”
Installed last week, the new screen is over and above the $1.6 million investment in AV gear at the venue flagged by Microhire last year when the production company renewed their exclusive partnership with Royal ICC.
“Events are now demanding a high level of impact and flexibility that this technology delivers, and this investment maintains Royal ICC’s truly international standard and allows a competitive price point for our clients,” said Microhire’s regional general manager of Queensland, Bryan Dochstader.
When combined, the three halls at Royal ICC can accommodate galas of up to 2,080 attendees with a stage or conferences of 3,176 delegates seated in theatre.
