There was little change in the top 10 meeting destinations for APAC, with Singapore topping the list again, Bangkok coming in second, Sydney third, Tokyo fourth and Melbourne rounding out the top five.
The only change in the top 10 was Seoul and Bali swapping places, with Seoul rising one place to seventh and Bali dropping from seventh to eighth.
Kuala Lumpur almost made the top 10, coming in sixth, while two Chinese destinations, Shanghai and Beijing, took the last two places, ranked ninth and 10th respectively.
The Gold Coast and Brisbane were the other two Australian destinations in the top 25, with the Gold Coast coming in 15th and Brisbane following in 16th place.
In the list of the top 50 hotels, there was a change at the top, with the 1,080-room Hilton Singapore Orchard moving from third place in 2025 to first place this year.
Last year’s list-topper, Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, fell to fifth place.
Sydney and Melbourne hotels both did better in 2026 compared to 2025, with more hotels from both cities appearing higher up the list.
Australia’s largest hotel, the Hyatt Regency Sydney, with its 878 rooms and 4,000m2 of meetings space, held its second place ranking, while Hilton Sydney moved six places up the list from ninth in 2025 to third this year.
Three other Sydney hotels made the top 20, with the Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park rising into the top 10, ranked eighth, after placing 30th last year, and Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour ranked 18th, while InterContinental Sydney ranked 19th, rising one place compared to last year.
In total, 10 Sydney hotels made the top 50, up from nine last year. The Four Seasons Hotel Sydney ranked 27th, while W Sydney was 29th, Shangri-La Sydney was 33rd, Sofitel Sydney Wentworth was 36th and Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbour came in at 46. Sofitel Wentworth and the Novotel property didn’t make the top 50 last year.
Meanwhile, Rydges Melbourne climbed two spots from 43 in 2025 to 41 in 2026 but was just pipped at the post by Crowne Plaza Melbourne, located opposite Melbourne’s convention centre, which came in at 40, to. be the highest ranked hotel in Melbourne.
Cvent’s rankings are based on venue sourcing activity on the Cvent Supplier Network which lists almost 340,000 hotels and event venues in more than 14,000 cities globally. In 2025, more than $20 billion of RFPs were submitted through the platform – the highest ever in terms of value.
Factors which are taken into account when determining the top meetings destinations and top hotels include total room nights booked, the volume and value of RFPs submitted through the platform, the value of business booked, hotel market share and the percentage of RFPs that hotels respond to.
