MCEC to debut Formula 1 exhibition in November

Melbourne has the Formula 1 race next March, but from November it will be the first Asia Pacific city to host the official Formula 1 Exhibition.

Located in the space formerly occupied by The LUME during its multi-year stay at Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre (MCEC), the F1 exhibition has had previous iterations in Europe and the Americas.

It opens November 29 in MCEC’s exhibition bays 25 and 26, close to hotels and public parking and has been brought to Melbourne by Sony Music and TEG Experiences. At this stage it looks set to wrap up at the convention centre on April 19, 2026.

And while the exhibition will no doubt draw F1 fans, it also has capacity to host corporate events of up to 50 attendees.

The immersive experience is divided into seven rooms and is expected to take about 90 minutes to fully take in. It features the history of Formula 1, its cars, teams and drivers, alongside exclusive video footage and experiences including a driver’s eye view of a race, a pit-wall experience and state-of-the-art F1 racing simulators.

“We’re excited to launch The Formula 1 Exhibition in the APAC region, with Melbourne as the perfect starting point,” said Jonathan Linden, co-CEO of Round Room Live and producer of The Formula 1 Exhibition.

“Australia’s rich motorsport legacy – home to legendary drivers and both historic and modern-day circuits – makes it an ideal location.

“We can’t wait for fans to explore the world of F1 through this immersive and cutting-edge experience.”

Meanwhile, the Australian F1 Grand Prix will be staged at Albert Park from March 5 to March 8, 2026.
