From October 26, Malaysian Airlines flights between Kuala Lumpur and Auckland will increase from eight services a week to 10 services a week.
Less than a week later, the airline will add an additional three services a week to Melbourne on October 30, with frequency rising from 18 to 21 weekly services.
The following day, services between Sydney and Kuala Lumpur will jump by three per week, rising to 21 services.
From December 1, Perth will enjoy a frequency boost with services rising from 12 to 14 per week.
And finally, Adelaide will get an additional two services per week from February 1, 2026, with services increasing from five services each week to a daily service.
The airline is also introducing new aircraft on some of its flights to Australia and New Zealand and says it will operate the youngest fleet of widebody aircraft in Australasia within the first three months of 2026.
The airline is bringing more of its A330neo aircraft to service Australia and New Zealand, which feature the latest cabin design and an all-suite business class.
The airline initially committed to 20 A330neo aircraft in 2022 – buying 10 and leasing 10 – and put an order in for another 20 of the aircraft during winter 2025.
“The A330neo continues to deliver the right balance of operational efficiency, range and cabin comfort to support our network and growth strategy,” said Malaysian Airlines Group managing director, Datuk Captain Izham Ismail.
“With its enhanced fuel efficiency and flexibility across both regional and long-haul routes, the aircraft is a strong fit for our evolving market needs.
“It also allows us to offer a product that aligns with our premium positioning – streamlined, modern and designed around passenger comfort and expectations.
“This additional order reinforces our long-term vision of building a future-ready fleet that supports sustainable growth, delivers consistent value to our passengers and strengthens our competitiveness in key markets.”
Malaysian Airlines has already received four of the A330neo aircraft, with another six expected this year.
