Tourism New Zealand launches business events marketing hub
New Zealand’s national visitor agency has unveiled its Delegate Marketing Hub, aimed at boosting attendance at business events in New Zealand.

The hub includes access to videos, social media assets, headers and footers for direct marketing via email, web design tips, fact sheets, maps, sample itineraries and pre-written promotional copy.

Material can be downloaded and customised to suit the brand of an event.

“We know the opportunity to explore New Zealand plays an important part in enticing delegates to attend conferences hosted here,” said Tourism New Zealand’s general manager of New Zealand and business events, Bjoern Spreitzer.

“We want to make it easy for organisers to promote their event and New Zealand to attract as many registrations as possible and ensure the success of their event.

“The how-to guides not only support organisers on their conference hosting journey, but ensure the events held here enrich New Zealand beyond the economic impact, by providing meaningful connections with our culture, people and environment.”

Guides for organisers within the hub include a PCO-approved guide for the conference hosting journey, guides to the art of maximising attendance and incorporating Maori culture into a conference, a legacy framework to support a positive conference impact and a sustainability toolkit.

The hub comes as New Zealand nears the opening of its third purpose-built convention centre in four years. The New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) is set for a 2025 opening and will be the largest of the trifecta of next-generation convention centres recently debuting in New Zealand. The other two opened in 2022 and 2023, with Te Pae Christchurch commencing operations just after New Zealand’s COVID capacity limits lifted in May 2022 and Tākina in Wellington hosting its first official events in June 2023.

Event organisers can sign up to the Delegate Marketing Hub here.
