Taking the helm at AV1 is Nigel Mintern who has been with the business for more than 13 years, beginning as a technical operator and rising to producer.
Wootton has spent more than three decades working in technical production and founded AV1 in 2004.
He announced the leadership change at AV1’s Long Summer Lunch for clients and supporters last week.
“I am delighted to hand AV1 over to Nigel,” said Wootton.
“Nigel has a broad knowledge of the business as well as a strong understanding of our technology. He is well respected by clients and staff. Everyone loves working with Nigel.”
Mintern said he was “honoured and excited to lead AV1 into this new era”.
“Keith’s legacy is undeniable. I am thankful for the opportunity to build upon the strong foundation he has laid, steering the company toward continued growth and success.
“AV1 will continue its commitment to technical excellence and client satisfaction, and I look forward to catching up with our customers to discuss how AV1 can continue to deliver outstanding service and premium experiences for clients and stakeholders.”
Although he is stepping back from the day-to-day running of AV1, Wootton will continue to have broad oversight of the production company, alongside Sprintr, an event technology offshoot of AV1, and a new video-first creative studio, which is set to launch later this year.
