Third Hilton set for Melbourne
Melbourne will gain a third Hilton hotel by the end of this year when the luxury boutique Next Hotel at the Paris end of Collins Street becomes part of the Curio Collection by Hilton.

Next, which opened March 1, 2021, will become part of Hilton’s group of 30 hotels in Australia, with the Curio branding suggesting it has been hand-picked for the unique experience offered. In this case, it could be the third floor barrel room where barrel-aged spirits and botanicals deliver a communal tasting experience gathered around a one-of-a-kind decanting table with only eight seats.

While the hotel bears a Collins Street address, it is also accessible from Little Collins Street, offering 255 rooms and some small meeting and event spaces including, La Madonna restaurant.

Another of Hilton’s existing properties in Melbourne is down the road within the financial district. Hilton Melbourne Little Queen Street also has a classical columned façade on Collins Street, but welcomes guests at its Little Queen Street entrance. It has five meeting rooms for up to 120 in theatre plus a rooftop terrace.

Meanwhile DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Melbourne – Flinders Street overlooks the iconic Flinders Street railway station with 187 rooms and three meeting rooms for up to 28 in a boardroom setup or 20 in a classroom setup.

For meeting planners the Next move means they can take advantage of Hilton’s global loyalty program, Hilton Honours.

Next Hotel Melbourne was developed by Next Story Group who partnered with Pro-Invest Group to develop hospitality management company Vista Hospitality Group, an Australasian hotel management company. It will be Australia’s second Curio Collection property, joining the West Hotel Sydney.

Pro-invest Group has 31 hotels in its investment portfolio and regards Next as its flagship luxury offering.
