CHINA Raffles Hotels & Resorts will be marking the launch of its 10th hotel this September with Raffles Hainan situated in Clearwater Bay on the southern coast of Hainan Island.
The 299-room Raffles Hainan is part of the 500-square-kilometre development which also includes two championship golf courses, private residences, luxury retail, cinema complex, yacht clubs and a 780-berth marina.
It will encompass 299 rooms starting at 80 square metres and 32 villas, Raffles Spa offering both Asian and Western treatments, seven restaurants and bars, and private events spaces. These event spaces include a 790-square-metre ballroom accommodating up to 500 banquet-style, a sea-view beachfront pavilion and seven multi-functional meeting rooms.
Raffles Hainan’s rooms and suites will feature a contemporary design combined with locally-inspired accents of the traditional hill tribes in Hainan. Over 1000 works of art will also be showcased throughout the resort, including specially-commissioned works from contemporary Chinese artists, sculptures, tribal ornaments and multimedia art.
Hainan Island is a three-hour flight from Beijing.
