Justin North will continue in his role as Pullman Culinary Ambassador, overseeing the brand’s food and beverage offering.
micenet AUSTRALIA sought confirmation from Accor following the release of a statement by ASIC that Mr North and his wife Georgina has been banned from managing a company for the next two years and 18 months respectively following their involvement in the failure of three companies.
ASIC found Mr and Mrs North failed to exercise their powers and discharge their director’s duties with the requisite degree of care and diligence relating to their businesses Bacasse Pty Limited, Etch Restaurant Pty Limited, and North Food Catering Pty Limited.
This failure, ASIC found, resulted in large deficiencies owed to creditors totalling a combined sum of more than $7 million for the three companies.
Liquidators were appointed to Becasse Pty Limited on 20 June 2012, and to Etch Restaurant Pty Limited and North Food Catering Pty Limited on 20 July 2012.
Accor Pacific chief operating officer, Simon McGrath, said: “Justin is a talented chef and his skill and knowledge of fresh produce has enhanced our food and beverage offer for Pullman Hotels and Resorts. He will continue to work for us on a consultancy basis by advising Pullman’s chefs and contribute towards the continued development of the brand’s culinary journey.”
