MALAYSIA The 3rd Woman Deliver Conference 2013 (WD 2013), addressing issues related to women’s health and mortality, will be held in Kuala Lumpur from May 28 to 30.

Estimated to attract 5000 delegates consisting healthcare professionals, policymakers, and government leaders, the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) believed it is expected to generate approximately RM72.5 million in economic impact.

MyCEB CEO Zulkefli Hj Sharif commented that the hosting of the WD 2013 conference “reflects positively on Malaysia’s strong track record in hosting global conferences in line with the Bureau’s mission under the Economic Transformation Programme”.

The conference will be emphasising on issues such as family planning, women’s health and education, empowerment and rights, and also include a forum for continuous advocacy for girls and women, and feature influential speakers Melinda Gates of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, HRH Crown Princess Mette Marit of Norway, and Zainah Anwar of Global Movement for Equality and Justice in the Muslim Family.

The WD conference was previously held in London and Washington.
