Ayers Rock Resort’s monumental art installation Field of Light Uluru has received worldwide acclaim since its unveiling in April 2016.
The brainchild of internationally acclaimed artist Bruce Munro, Field of Light’s 50,000 glass spheres bloom as darkness falls over the spiritual heart of Australia. Pathways created by the artwork draw viewers into the installation, which comes to life under a sky brilliant with stars.
Field of Light adds a sparkle to any event, with a range of options available for delegates to immerse themselves in the artwork – from a sunrise experience to an exclusive bush tucker-inspired dinner under the stars, just footsteps from the installation.
Newly on offer is the Star Pass by Camel, where delegates meander through red sand dunes on a friendly camel with Uluru and Kata Tjuta as their backdrop, discovering the unique flora and fauna of the desert surrounds. On arrival at the Field of Light dune top, sparkling wine and outback canapés are served while the sun sets on the horizon and the colours of Field of Light come to life under the stars. A walk through the installation allows delegates to lose themselves in the rhythms of coloured light.
As well as Field of Light, delegates can enjoy a host of unique activities at Ayers Rock Resort, from Indigenous cultural experiences to guided tours to discover the captivating cultural landscape of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.
Ayers Rock Resort’s bespoke conference centre, Uluru Meeting Place, has won two consecutive Australian Tourism Awards in the Business Events category, in recognition of its state-of-the- art facilities and range of unique dining and touring options. The complex includes two main conference spaces which can host 306 delegates and 420 delegates respectively with theatre style seating. The rooms can be sub-divided with acoustically rated walls, or opened up to become one common space for exhibitions or trade shows. A light-filled pre-function area adds flexibility, while an outdoor amphitheatre can host up to 350 guests. Advanced audio-visual equipment is seamlessly integrated throughout.
