A survey carried out by the New Zealand Events Association (NZEA) has found that more than 3000 events have been cancelled in New Zealand since the outbreak of COVID-19.

The survey was completed by 542 events-related organisations and 209 independent event professionals.

A further 994 events have been postponed indefinitely, and an estimated 10,873 are still scheduled for the next six months.

This represents a huge hit for New Zealand’s economy, which is injected with around half a billion dollars each year from business events.
