W Singapore – Sentosa Cove paves the way in brand refresh
Refreshed event spaces are part of an ongoing transformation of W Singapore – Sentosa Cove and the W Hotels brand. Trendy and quirky touches have given way to cooler colours, creativity and wellness.

The 240 rooms and suites were redesigned and refurnished and the seven indoor function spaces, all on one level, are now ready too.

“W Singapore – Sentosa Cove offers a range of flexible indoor and outdoor venues suitable for conferences, incentive programs, leadership retreats, networking events and corporate celebrations,” said its general manager, Christian Metzner.

Event sizes usually range from 30 to 150 participants, and may exceed 200 pax.

The 720m2 Great Room holds 500 delegates theatre style or 540 for cocktail receptions but can be divided into two rooms. Its 14m x 5m LED screen can be split into two independent displays for hybrid programming, dual-stage formats or immersive brand activations.

The four curved Studios offer natural daylight and may be used individually for breakouts and seminars or combined to take 180 pax. The Strategy Room seats 16 pax in boardroom style.

The unique Great Room Deck extends directly over the marina, while the W Lawn below hosts 200 pax at cocktail receptions.

Themed coffee breaks perk up conference and meeting programs. SKIRT, the signature open-fire steakhouse, handles both C-suite dinners with premium menus and informal team gatherings.

Activities range from sunrise yoga and guided meditation to immersive sound-bath sessions and culinary wellness workshops for small groups. MICE groups enjoy a discount on spa treatments.

“We don’t impose a fixed MICE package; we build around the client’s goals, group profile and budget,” Metzner said.

Groups may arrange for exclusive use of specific areas, such as the restaurant, bar, event space, or a combination.

Even a full hotel buyout is available: organisers may rebrand the entire resort, from signage and décor to curated programming and exclusive use of all venues.

Another plus point is the resort’s 10 private yacht berths, allowing for grand arrivals by sea or sunset networking cruises and private charters.

The Afterglow Voyage on a catamaran departs directly from Sentosa Cove Marina. Event planners can opt for team-building and client entertainment to special celebrations, with curated dining packages and optional DJ programming.

Charters start from four hours for up to 45 guests. Four charters have been run since the March launch.

With thousands of multinationals based in Singapore, corporate groups are the primary segment, but regional business from China and APAC is growing. Australia is an active source market for incentive travel, Metzner revealed.

“A key part of our pitch to Australian groups is the atmosphere we offer: something genuinely different from what delegates experience at a typical urban conference hotel. Sentosa Cove is less crowded, more spacious and inherently resort in feel,” he said.

Such product differentiation helps W Singapore – Sentosa Cove at trade shows, including the Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME) in Melbourne.
