Trippas White Group enters sustainability partnership
The venue and restaurant business Trippas White Group is collaborating with Barefoot Citizens Consulting to offer event organisers the tools to measure and offset carbon emissions from events hosted at its venues.

Barefoot Citizens Consulting will create a framework to measure carbon emissions generated by events held at Trippas White venues across Sydney and Canberra and identify where emissions can be reduced or offset.

“We recognise the significant carbon footprint associated with the events industry, which is why we’re committed to proactive measures in partnership with Barefoot Citizens Consulting to minimise our environmental impact,” said Trippas White Group’s head of sales, Jenifer Dwyer Slee.

“Listening to our valued investors, partners, employees and event attendees, we understand that environmentally conscious practices are not only favoured but expected, and we intend to stay ahead of the curve and be part of the change to help move the industry forward in the right direction.”

Trippas White Group is also looking to reduce carbon emissions at its venues through implementing energy efficiency practices, working on waste minimisation and engaging with other organisations in the sustainability sector.

Founder of Barefoot Citizens Consulting, Natalie Simmons, said the consulting company believed in profit with purpose.

“Our partnership with Trippas White Group reflects the broader shift from environmentally-conscious businesses to implement sustainable solutions into their day-to-day practices; and we’re looking forward to working together on pushing forward more meaningful environmental progress in the events space.”

Trippas White operates some iconic Australian venues, including the Yallamundi Rooms at the Sydney Opera House, the Australian War Memorial in Canberra and three elevated venues at Sydney Tower. Other venues like Taronga Zoo, Terrace on the Domain and Centennial Homestead all lend themselves to the sustainably conscious either through their green space settings or, in the case of Taronga Zoo, their conservation ethos.
