The show was previously held at ICC Sydney in Darling Harbour.
The new venue for the show provides more space to the growing marathon event, which is aiming to have 40,000 finishers this year. More than 123,000 people entered the ballot to take part in the race in 2026 – a 56 per cent increase on 2025. The event became the seventh world marathon major last year.
“Our team is excited to welcome the TCS Sydney Marathon Running Show to its new home at Sydney Showground,” said Sydney Showground’s general manager, Darryl Jeffrey.
“This is an event all about energy, community and connection, and our precinct is uniquely designed to bring that to life with the space, flexibility and world-class facilities to support an experience of this scale.
“It’s an exciting addition to our events calendar and a fantastic opportunity to showcase everything our precinct has to offer.
“Sydney Olympic Park has long been at the heart of Australia’s biggest sporting moments, including the finish of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games marathon, so it’s a natural home for an event like the TCS Sydney Marathon Running Show.
“There’s a real sense of history and legacy here, and it adds another layer of significance to the event, connecting today’s runners with the history of sport in this precinct.”
The Sydney Marathon itself is a legacy of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
As well as hosting the show featuring running and marathon related exhibitors, all participants in the marathon will be required to travel to Sydney Olympic Park to collect their bibs for the race during the TCS Sydney Marathon Running Show at Sydney Showground. Sydney Trains will run dedicated services from Central express to Olympic Park to support runners’ compulsory attendance at the show.
The show’s move to Sydney Showground separates the exhibition geographically from the marathon itself, which takes place in and immediately around the Sydney CBD.
TCS Sydney Marathon Running Show will run from August 27 to August 29, ahead of the Sydney Marathon on Sunday August 30.
