The redevelopment of the private terminal at Singapore’s Changi Airport will yield two new event spaces.

Previously known as the Commercially Important Persons terminal, a transformation of the site at the southern end of Terminal 2, set to be complete next year, will deliver a new private terminal as well as new offerings for a broader user group.

Alongside a lounge, bar, private suites and dining, the private terminal will include a new luxury event space, which can double as a space to accommodate large entourages.

The private terminal will be operated by Changi Airport Group (CAG) and Plaza Premium Group (PPG).

“As we join hands with CAG on the development and operations of this pioneering private terminal, PPG is committed to delivering a consistently elevated end-to-end experience for premium travellers at Changi Airport,” said PPG’s chief transformation officer, Mei Mei Song.

“By bringing together our global expertise in airport hospitality with Changi’s renowned operational excellence, we will offer a new benchmark in personalised, seamless and bespoke services for our discerning guests.”

Amongst the other offerings to come from the redevelopment is the first covered amphitheatre for the airport alongside an open-air plaza. These spaces will be able to hold small to mid-size events.

“Some of today’s travellers seek more than just a comfortable place to spend time before their flight – they are after a personalised luxury experience,” said Changi’s senior vice president of airport operations development and airport operations services, Ang Siew Min.”

“CAG is meeting this demand with an upgraded private terminal that delivers an exceptional experience.

“In addition, a curated selection of dining and wellness offerings awaits just steps from the private terminal, further enriching the suite of options available to our passengers.”

Alongside the redevelopment of the private terminal, a 255-room Hotel Indigo is being built at Terminal 2 at Changi and is expected to be open by 2028.
