The 198-room beachfront property underwent significant renovations in 2025 to lift it from a Crowne Plaza to a luxury InterContinental hotel.
The InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach also offers considerable event space – over 1,000m2, which Microhire has fitted out with a variety of AV gear after locking in the in-house AV contract.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to partner with InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach – a property that combines luxury, sophistication and an iconic beachfront setting,” said Microhire’s regional general manager for New South Wales and New Zealand, Geoff Townend.
“As their exclusive inhouse AV partner, we look forward to delivering premium technology that enhances every experience, reflecting our shared commitment to excellence and the hotel’s elevated vision for events.”
Highlights of the installed AV includes a 10m-wide LED wall in the Grand Ballroom, in addition to dual laser projectors and projection screens, moving LED lights and table spotlights, 4K AI-powered tracking cameras and high quality audio systems.
In the Centennial Room, three three-metre-wide LED screens have been installed, alongside intelligent moving LED lights, more tracking cameras and ceiling speakers.
Other spaces have ultra-high-definition screens or 4K laser projectors.
InterContinental Sydney Coogee’s general manager, Melinda Lampier, said Microhire would bring “a new level of specialisation and capability to our meetings and events offering”.
“As we continue to evolve the hotel, it was important that our technology matched the quality of the experience, enabling seamless, flexible and highly personalised events for our guests,” said Lampier.
“With Microhire’s expertise, we’re confident InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach will set a new benchmark for events by the beach.”
