Longtime IHG Hotels & Resorts staffer Stewart Manson is the resort’s new general manager, moving over from Crowne Plaza Queenstown, where he was GM for six years.
Manson has been with IHG for more than 14 years and previously headed up the Crowne Plaza hotel in Alice Springs that is connected to the convention centre there.
Meanwhile, Kate Rodionova is Hayman Island’s new director of operations, joining the resort from InterContinental Sanctuary Cove, where she was executive assistant manager for more than three and a half years. She brings over 15 years of experience to the island, having previously worked at Crowne Plaza Hobart as well as PARKROYAL Darling Harbour and Hyatt Regency Sydney.
Grigory Rodionova is Hayman’s new F&B manager, overseeing the resort’s restaurants, room service and the culinary offering for events. He comes to his new role with experience in Australia, as well as Europe, North America and the Maldives.
The resort also has a new executive housekeeper in Wayne Weller, who moves over from The Star Gold Coast. Weller has a variety of experience across both aviation – including nearly two decades with Qantas – and hotels and attractions, having worked for Marriott International Accor, and Dreamworld, before joining The Star.
Finally, Chantel Schroeder is the new leader for HR at Hayman Island, bringing human resources experience with Cruise Whitsundays, Whitsundays Regional Council and BHP to her new position.
