Amongst the business events winners, MCI had plenty to celebrate, taking home the award for best large congress for the 76th International Astronautical Congress – for which it also won several Australian Business Events Awards last December – as well as the trophies for PCO of the Year and Event Agency of the Year.
Imagination took home two gongs, for Best Exhibition for the AWS Summit and Corporate Event Agency of the Year.
Meanwhile, the First Nations Therapeutic Responses Summit from the KWY Aboriginal Corporation took home best small conference, the Google Cloud Summit from Sense Group won Best Corporate Event and Kia Australia’s Tasman Town, delivered by Veritas Events, won Best Brand Event.
Production company AV1 and Laissez-Faire Catering each collected two trophies, with the pair working together – also with Simply Seated – on Premier Financial Alliance’s Sydney incentive program, which clinched Best Incentive Event, while AV1 won Production Company of the Year and Laissez-Faire Catering won Caterer of the Year.
“Production Company of the Year belongs to every person at AV1: the crew, technicians and producers who showed up for our clients across more than 1,300 projects,” AV1’s managing director Nigel Mintern told micenet.
“Sharing Best Incentive Event with Laissez-Faire Catering and Simply Seated makes it even more special, because that program showed what’s possible when industry partners work as one team.”
Arguably the biggest winner of the night was perhaps something of a surprise – the 30th Australian Kelpie Muster and Australia’s Premier Working Dog Auction, staged by the Casterton Kelpie Association in the small rural town of Casterton – population less than 1,700 – took out Best Association Event, Best Community Event and the Australian Event of the Year.
