Marriott International brings new brand to the Pacific in New Caledonia
Marriott International’s select service brand, Series by Marriott, has entered the market in the Pacific region, with three resorts joining the brand in New Caledonia.

In a partnership with Societe Hoteliere de Noumea (SHN), resorts in Noumea, the Isle of Pines and Deva under the existing Le Domaine du Pacifique brand, totalling 375 keys, are now in Marriott International’s portfolio.

The beachfront Le Domaine Déva, Series by Marriott set in a nature reserve beside a World Heritage-listed barrier reef in Bourail offers 176 keys, including 40 suites and 56 bungalows, alongside four meeting spaces, with the largest able to seat 240 delegates in theatre.

The resort also offers two restaurants and a bar and spa.

Located on the Isle of Pines, off the largest of New Caledonia’s islands, Le Domaine Oro, Series by Marriott has just 48 rooms, including 28 bungalow suites. The resort has a restaurant, bar and spa, but no meeting space.

Meanwhile, Le Domaine Nouméa, Series by Marriott is located beside the world’s largest UNESCO listed lagoon and offers 207 rooms, including 34 suites. The resort has a restaurant, bar, café and spa alongside seven meeting rooms, with the largest able to host groups of up to 400.

“We are delighted to strengthen our longstanding relationship with Societe Hoteliere de Noumea and introduce Series by Marriott to New Caledonia,” said Marriott International’s regional vice president for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, Jason Nuell.

“These distinctive resorts reflect the character, culture and natural beauty of New Caledonia and embody the vision of Series by Marriott: regionally created and globally connected.

“Through this collaboration, guests will be able to enjoy memorable local experiences with modern design and warm hospitality, alongside the trusted consistency and Marriott Bonvoy member benefits they know from Marriott across the globe.”

Marriott International has 77 properties within its Series by Marriott portfolio, the majority of which are in Asia.

“With these new agreements, we are opening a new page in our relationship with Marriott International,” said president of Promosud, SHN administrator and 2nd vice-president of the Southern Province in charge of the tourism sector, Brieuc Frogier.

“They allow us to strengthen the specific identity of each of our establishments while continuing to benefit from the power and expertise of a world leader in the hotel industry.

“This is an evolution that fully meets our ambition: to promote New Caledonia through an authentic, demanding and resolutely internationally oriented hotel offering.”
