Hotel X Brisbane is now known as The Alva Hotel Brisbane.
Prior to opening in February 2021, the hotel was to be a Hotel Indigo, before it was renamed to Hotel X.
It was one of the first hotels in the world to join IHG Hotels and Resorts’ Vignette Collection when the brand launched in late 2021. IT remains part of IHG and the Vignette Collection under its new name.
There have been several upgrades at the hotel as it moves to its new brand, including in the lobby, new artworks in the 146 guest rooms, and a “refreshed” rooftop pool. Amenities in the guest rooms have also been lifted.
“The Alva is much more than a new name,” said the property’s general manager, Daniel Gerritse.
“It’s a new hotel experience inspired by the creativity, energy and character of Fortitude Valley.
“We’ve created a place where guests can experience Brisbane through thoughtful design, personalised service and experiences that celebrate the neighbourhood’s music, art, dining and culture.
“We’re equally committed to being part of the local community by championing the people and places that make this precinct so distinctive.
“One of my favourite touches is our Post a Moment ritual, which invites guests to slow down, write a postcard to someone special and leave us to post it on their behalf. It’s a simple gesture, but one we hope creates a lasting connection long after they’ve checked out.”
The hotel offers 190m2 of indoor and outdoor event space and has a couple of restaurants from Ghanem Group Hospitality, Iris Rooftop Bar & Restaurant and Bisou Bisou.
