Sprintr acquires Event Solutions NZ

The Australian event tech business has bought a New Zealand partner after years of working together.

The acquisition took place in May, with Event Solutions NZ retaining its name but becoming a Sprintr company. Founder of Event Solutions, Claire Webber, who started the company over 19 years ago, remains with the business, delivering for Sprintr on New Zealand based events.

“A lot of the things that we have been doing separately are very similar and so it was quite an easy alignment to make because we work the same products, we use the same solutions, we offer the same kind of services, we’ve got very loyal customers so I think it was an easy move,” said Webber.

Sprintr delivers registration solutions and event check-in along with event websites, apps and engagement data.

Members of Sprintr’s Australian team and Webber have been exhibiting at New Zealand’s flagship business events trade show MEETINGS this week as a new single entity.

“[We’re] really excited to be able to offer the Sprintr services over here in a way that aligns with what we have been delivering in Australia already over the last 10 years,” says Sprintr’s director of business and innovation, Chris Schlueter.

With Australian offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, the Gold Coast and Brisbane, the New Zealand acquisition is part of a wider expansion for Sprintr, which reflects the changing needs of the market.

“We have so many Australian based clients in New Zealand and Singapore in particular so it makes sense for us to expand our geographical footprint to provide the level of service that we deliver in Australia in other locations,” said Sprintr’s director of sales, Mitch Gaal, confirming the company is actively looking for opportunities to establish a presence in Singapore.

“The whole geographic region here is shrinking for events that are doing roadshows,” says Schlueter.

“They’re not doing just the standard Sydney-Melbourne type of events – we now have a lot of software companies that are doing events that are jumping around Sydney, Singapore, Auckland and are doing bigger roadshows.

“It requires us to have access to different regions, the same way that we grew through Australia.”

Having an established presence in New Zealand also reduces the carbon footprint of Sprintr’s business, with sustainability something the company has long championed.

Sprintr brought a fully recyclable check-in kiosk to market in 2024, offering a sturdy but significantly lighter brandable product that reduces environmental impact on several fronts. Sprintr’s lanyards are also made from recycled material and are fully recyclable and the company can provide biodegradable lanyard pouches.
