The tool will track greenhouse gas emissions from the likes of energy usage, food and beverage consumption, packaging and delegate travel, to provide an instant understanding of the environmental impact of meetings at the venue for both organisers and delegates.
The measurements can be used by organisers to offset event emissions.
The dashboard was developed as part of Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau’s (TCEB) Winnovation program.
“As a leader in sustainability, QSNCC is committed to advancing green initiatives in every dimension,” said QSNCC CEO Surapol Utintu.
“We began by adopting ISO 14064-1 and Carbon Footprint for Organization (CFO) standards to measure and report greenhouse gas emissions. Building on this foundation, we are now implementing event-specific carbon footprint assessments (CFE) in a more systematic way.
“The launch of the Real-Time Carbon Footprint Tracking Dashboard marks a significant milestone in establishing a strong foundation for truly sustainable and environmentally friendly events.”
The new dashboard will be first used at Asia Sustainable Energy Week 2025 and the International Engineering Expo 2025, both to be held in July at QSNCC.
“We truly appreciate the support and collaboration from QSNCC and TCEB in making this initiative a reality,” said Sanchai Noombunnam, country general manager for Informa Markets Thailand, which organises Asia Sustainable Energy Week.
“Having access to real-time carbon footprint data helps us better understand and appreciate the value of sustainable event practices. It also opens up structured pathways for reducing and offsetting emissions.
“This is a meaningful step forward in creating genuinely eco-friendly events, and we hope this model will inspire many more events to follow,” said Noombunnam.
In the future, QSNCC has plans to integrate the dashboard into its loyalty program, so that organisers can use loyalty points to access it.
“This will be another way to promote eco-conscious event planning and elevate Thailand’s MICE industry to new sustainability heights,” said Utintu.
TCEB believes projects like QSNCC’s emissions dashboard will help give Thailand a “competitive edge and a unique value proposition on the global stage” according to an executive advisor at TCEB, Jaruwan Suwannasat.
