An Australian PCO will deliver the 5th World Indigenous Suicide Prevention Conference (WISPC) which will take place in Hamilton in 2026.

Arinex, one of Australia’s most prominent PCOs, will plan and deliver the conference on behalf of its organisers.

The event is expected to see up to 750 Indigenous leaders, health professionals and community advocates from around the world meet in New Zealand’s fastest growing city.

Hamilton is also significant for its place in Māori culture, as it is the home of the Kīngitanga – the Māori King Movement – with the Kīngitanga partnering with the conference alongside Taiuni Waka, the local Māori iwi (tribe), giving delegates a chance to engage deeply with New Zealand’s Indigenous culture.

“We are honoured to support the return of the World Indigenous Suicide Prevention Conference to Aotearoa and to help deliver an experience that is both globally connected and grounded in tikanga Māori,” said Jessica Ferguson, head of business development and marketing at Arinex and a New Zealander herself.

“Purposeful events require both human-centred design and a strong cultural narrative and we are excited to assist in delivering this in 2026.”

The inaugural World Indigenous Suicide Prevention Conference was held in Auckland in 2016 and has since had iterations in Australia, Canada and the USA.

Founded in Australia more than 50 years ago, Arinex set up a New Zealand office in early 2020 in Auckland.
