Across all of the Asia Pacific – including China – Sydney was ranked third, while Melbourne was ranked fifth.
The top city was Singapore, with Bangkok coming in second, Tokyo in fourth place, and Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, Bali, Phuket and Shanghai rounding out the second half of the top ten in that order.
In the top hotels list for APAC, properties in Singapore made up half of the top 10, taking out five spots, including the top two, which went to JW Marriott Singapore South Beach and Shangri-La Singapore.
Two Australian hotels made the top 10, both in Sydney – the Hyatt Regency Sydney at number three and the Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park at number nine.
Event technology business Cvent’s supplier network includes more than 300,000 hotels and meeting venues in over 12,500 cities around the world. Over $16 billion worth of business was sourced through the supplier network in 2023.
For the top destinations list, the total number of room nights booked, the number of requests for a proposal (RFPs), the total value of RFPs and the value of business booked were all part of determining placings.
For the hotels list, total number of RFPs, awarded RFPS, total room nights, awarded room nights, market share, conversion rate and response rate helped to determine each property’s rank.

There were six more Sydney properties in the top 50 hotels, but just two from Melbourne. No other Australian hotels featured.
On the destinations front, Brisbane was just outside the top 10 at number 11 and Gold Coast ranked 15th in the top 25.
