Spring is always spectacular in the leafy surrounds of Potts Point, and Mercure is making the most of it with the relaunch of its Orion Terrace. The space is in prime position at the vibrant entertainment district and looks out onto the buzzing and iconic Sydney cityscape. It open-air rooftop has a quintessentially Sydney feel and is the perfect place for guests to toast champagne glasses. With the area attracting more than 20,000 visitors each week, it’s a perfect location for a product launch, exclusive event or party. Potts Point is a cultural hub of artistic soul, and Mercure not only reflects this but supports the local artists by displaying popular exhibitions throughout the year.

metro hotel makeover
Metro Hotel on Pitt Street has unveiled a flash new face after the flagship property completed a major refurbishment. The finishing touches to the refurbishment of four floors were made in September. Only luxury is available at the establishment with standard rooms phased out, and superior and deluxe rooms remaining. The hotel’s general manager, Sandra Calabretta, said the rationalisation of room categories will make it much easier for guests to book and enjoy the quality of room they’re looking for. The rooftop pool and restaurant terrace have also been jazzed up, and following Sydney’s smoke-free style, the hotel is now also completely smoke free. According to Ms Calabretta, the refurbishments are already proving to be a success. “The new pool deck looks great and, not only will it be an excellent and attractive facility for our guests to use, we have received a number of enquiries from organisations who want to hire the area for an evening cocktail function by the pool.”
