Warehouse conversion yields large-scale event space in Sydney’s northwest
In the Hills district in Sydney’s northwest, Momento Hospitality has spent $2.5 million converting a warehouse into a multi-purpose event venue within the Bella Vista Hotel precinct.

The new venue, Bella LIVE, will service both the concert and business events markets, looking to attract touring acts alongside conferences, galas, corporate events and the like.

The pillared 1,029m2 mostly flat floor space can accommodate groups of up to 2,000 for cocktail events, 900 for theatre style events or gala banquets for up to 600 attendees.

The space includes a fixed 10m wide stage and a 17.5m bar. There are also fixed VIP booths.

Befitting a concert venue, Bella LIVE also includes two green rooms with ensuites and a complete set of backstage amenities, making the space suitable for business event organisers wanting to bring in bands or other performances as part of the event experience. Green rooms could also be used for speaker prep.

As part of its conversion to an event space, more than $1 million was spent on premium AV fixtures and the venue comes with an in-house AV team. The AV fit out includes a custom audio system, dynamic LED stage lighting and immersive visual projection capability.

“Bella LIVE is redefining entertainment in the Hills,” said Momento Hospitality CEO, David Clifton.

“It’s a space that’s premium but inclusive, future-facing and grounded in community.

“As the region evolves, so does the appetite for diverse, high-quality experiences. Bella LIVE is built to deliver on that.”

While the new event venue is located within the Bella Vista Hotel precinct, plans are in the works for a separate entrance for event attendees. There is also a separate access point for trucks for event bump in and out.

Bella LIVE is located less than 15 minutes’ walk from Bella Vista Metro, which, with the newly opened Metro extension, connects directly from Sydenham through Sydney’s harbourside CBD, North Sydney, Chatswood, Macquarie Park and Macquarie University.

Once current works are complete, attendees from Bankstown in Sydney’s southwest through Marrickville will also have direct public transport access to the new venue.

“Bella LIVE has been purpose-built as a truly multi-format venue – which means we’ve designed our programming and operational model to accommodate both touring acts and business events without compromise,” said general manager, Richard Saliba.

“We don’t treat one as more important than the other – it’s about curation and alignment. We’re here to be dynamic – and responsive to what our audience and community want in real time.”

The venue has already hosted a few test events for business events clients and is taking bookings for events following Bella LIVE’s August 9 opening.
