The Gold Coast is gathering Australian and New Zealand event organisers at its 11th annual business event famil, This Is Gold Coast (TIGC), next week.

micenet will be among the attendees that include more than 50 business event organisers and decision-makers alongside 40 industry partners. The event includes a full-day trade show and networking opportunities.

Experience Gold Coast executive director of events, Avril Harris, said the flagship initiative continues to play a vital role in driving visitation, showcasing new products and contributing to the Gold Coast’s mid-week visitor economy.

“This year’s event is expected to generate more than $35 million in national and international business event leads, which is a testament to our team, our industry partners and our city’s business event offerings,” said Harris.

“TIGC is more than a showcase, it’s an invitation to experience the Gold Coast at its best, as well as connect, collaborate and discover new possibilities.”

This is Gold Coast will offer interactive site inspections of conference and event venues, alongside immersive experiences that celebrate the Gold Coast’s lifestyle, cultural diversity and natural beauty.

Experience Gold Coast’s director of business events, Brooke Campbell, said sustainability and nature-based experiences were “playing a bigger role than ever”.

“The City of Gold Coast’s new tourism grants reinforce our ongoing commitment to preserving our rich natural heritage while meeting the growing demand from global travellers for environmentally and culturally responsible experiences,” said Campbell.

“The Gold Coast has the natural advantage, positioned between 57 kilometres of stunning coastline and 100,000 hectares of ancient rainforest, with more than half of the city made up of green and open space.”

According to the Queensland Business Events Survey more than half of all business events held in Queensland take place on the Gold Coast.

New products and experiences are on the agenda for This is Gold Coast in 2025, including dinner at Dreamworld’s Rivertown and lunch at Mondrian Gold Coast, which opened last month.
