There’s a new private island for small corporate retreats, a revitalisation is complete in Sydney and a new hotel set for Brisbane.

Meet the new private island for hire on the Great Barrier Reef

The latest offering from the Northern Escape Collection is Pelorus Private Island, off the Queensland coast between Townsville and Cairns.

The island offers four suites, each with their own private decks, plus a fifth suite for accompanying staff. The accommodation includes ample communal space, a pool, a spa and a private chef. Experiences in and around the Great Barrier Reef include on Hinchinbrook Island and at the Museum of Underwater Art.

Pelorus Private Island is a neighbour to Orpheus Island, which offers another boutique island option from the Northern Escape Collection, Orpheus Island Lodge.

“With the region welcoming the news of an ultra-luxe accommodation offering, Pelorus Private Island puts Queensland in a competitive global landscape, by boasting a rare offering of unparalleled levels of privacy and personalised service that is unique in this part of the world,” said Chris Morris, executive chairman of Morris Group, which owns the Northern Escape Collection.

A render of the new A by Adina Chermside by TFE Hotels

TFE to add another property in Brisbane

TFE Hotels will debut a new-build A by Adina apartment hotel in the Brisbane suburb of Chermside in 2025.

The 148-key property will include a meeting space, gym, lobby lounge, café and bar and a restaurant.

Chermside is Brisbane’s fastest growing suburb, located near Brisbane Airport and about 10km from the city.

“The signing of Adina Chermside Brisbane is a significant milestone for TFE Hotels, providing an opportunity for us to expand our Adina footprint from two hotels to three in the powerhouse state of Queensland,” says TFE Hotels’ group chief operating officer, Chris Sedgwick.

“Adina Chermside brings a renowned, international hotel brand to this important suburb, filling a gap in the accommodation market for the north side of Brisbane and the Prince Charles Hospital.

“Significantly it also represents an incredible opportunity to expand our footprint to maximise on the incredible decade of transformation that lies ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.”
