Pups and Poses combines the wellness benefits of yoga with the therapeutic presence of Guide Dogs Victoria’s puppies-in-training, creating an unforgettable experience for corporate groups.
The new corporate experience follows the hotel’s recent appointment of Russell, its resident Wellbeing Dog-cierge, whose focus is on greeting guests and leading morning walks. Pups and Poses further represents the property’s commitment to guest wellness for corporate events and their partnership with Guide Dogs Victoria.
Sessions take place on QT Melbourne’s rooftop, offering delegates panoramic city views as they flow through gentle yoga movements. But the real magic happens when adorable puppies-in-training from Guide Dogs Victoria join the session, playfully interacting with participants or snoozing peacefully nearby.
The program benefits the pups too, giving them valuable group socialisation skills in their roles as guide dogs in training.
Developed in partnership with Soflo Studios, these private sessions are specifically designed for corporate groups seeking to enhance team bonding while supporting a meaningful cause.
The activity provides a refreshing break from intensive conference schedules, offering delegates a chance to decompress, connect with colleagues in a relaxed setting and experience the proven stress-reducing benefits of animal therapy.
It’s a project that’s particularly special to QT Melbourne’s general manager, Kristen Foat.
“Our relationship with Guide Dogs Victoria began some time ago, giving us the chance to truly understand their values and ensure they aligned with ours,” she said.
“Together, we’ve created experiences that not only delight our guests but also have a meaningful impact on our staff and, most importantly, on the lives transformed by the remarkable work of Guide Dogs Victoria.”
The sessions are carefully structured to accommodate various fitness levels, making them inclusive for all delegates regardless of yoga experience.
Professional instructors guide participants through accessible poses while the playful puppies add an element of spontaneity and laughter that naturally breaks down workplace barriers and encourages genuine connection among team members.
Beyond the immediate benefits of relaxation and team building, participating groups contribute directly to Guide Dogs Victoria’s vital work in training assistance dogs for individuals with low vision or blindness. This charitable component adds meaningful purpose to the corporate activity, allowing teams to engage in purpose-driven team building.
The experience is an easy add-on to any delegate itinerary, says director of sales, Garry Sudika.
“Whether as a morning energiser, midday recharge or afternoon wind-down, it’s the perfect circuit breaker, giving delegates the chance to stretch, reset and reconnect in a fun, memorable setting. Plus, it all happens on our Rooftop at QT, with stunning skyline views and fresh air,” he says.
