The Ghanem Group operates Blackbird Brisbane on the riverfront, as well as Bisou Bisou and the Iris Rooftop at Hotel X in Fortitude Valley, and multiple other restaurants in Brisbane’s city centre, including Donna Chang and Boom Boom Room.
In Melbourne, each floor of Blackbird Bar, Dining & Events, located within the Collins Place precinct, can be hired out exclusively for events.
The street-level, low-lit cocktail bar, known as the Flinders Floor, can host up to 80 and includes an alfresco area on Flinders Lane.
The middle floor is a split level dining room, with the entire floor able to seat 120. The lower section can seat 50 and boasts a floor-to-ceiling wine display, a mirrored ceiling and a view into the kitchen. The upper level can seat 60 but feels more intimate.
The middle level also features a protected outdoor terrace and a direct connection to Collins Place, home of the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins, providing a nearby accommodation option for any out-of-town event attendees. Groups conferencing at the Sofitel could also use Blackbird as an offsite evening venue.
The top floor of Blackbird in Melbourne comprises three private dining rooms, for 10 to 18 attendees each. Rooms have AV capabilities and can be combined in a pair or a trio for a maximum of 32 delegates.
Blackbird’s signature culinary offering is modern Australian, including native ingredients, seafood and steak. Dry-aged beef is a specialty – Wagyu, grass-fed and grain-fed.
The venue will also offer a canapé menu, grazing platters and food stations featuring cheese, charcuterie and freshly shucked oysters.
On the beverage front, there are 650 wines to choose from alongside cocktails with a native ingredients.
