Held every three years, the April 2026 event will mark the first time the conference has been held in Oceania. The meeting will be held at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The conference champions gender equality and the health and rights of women and girls.
“We are thrilled to work with our partners in the Oceanic Pacific to bring one of the most influential spaces for gender equality to the region,” said Women Deliver president and CEO, Dr. Maliha Khan.
“We look forward to collaborating with and learning from gender equality advocates – including feminist activists, First Nations leaders and more – to advance the health and rights of adolescent girls and women not only in the Oceanic Pacific but around the world.”
After hosting a regional gathering for Women Deliver in 2023, the bid to secure the global event was led by Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB), in partnership with Victoria’s Department of Families, Fairness and Housing.
“Victoria is a world leader when it comes to gender equality, the prevention of family violence and the gender pay gap – this conference will bring thousands of experts from all over the world to work together with local experts and drive global outcomes for women,” said Victoria’s minister for women, Natalie Hutchins.
The bid was also supported by the Commonwealth Government and received financial assistance through the Business Events Bid Fund administered by Tourism Australia through its specialist unit, Business Events Australia.
““We’re delighted to host Women Deliver 2026 in Melbourne on behalf of the Oceania Pacific region,” said MCB chief executive Julia Swanson.
“Events like this create a critical platform for dialogue, knowledge sharing and networking, empowering participants to drive transformative change and advance gender equality worldwide.”
