The program will run from September to November and is delivered primarily online, providing accessibility to MEA members anywhere in Australia.
“Heartened by the high rate of attainment of participation objectives by both mentees and mentors in the program rollout earlier in the year, we are excited to launch a second round of growth opportunities for the industry workforce,” said MEA CEO Peter McDonald.
“By helping members enhance their skills, advance their careers and increase their value to employers, the program empowers people to succeed both professionally and personally.
“It also strengthens the industry by building a more skilled and resilient workforce.”
Twenty-two mentees completed the program between April and June with a further 25 places available in the forthcoming intake.
Mentees from the initial round of the program in 2024 have advice to share for those taking part in round two.
“Identify your goals, clearly understand what you want to achieve through mentorship, whether it’s career guidance, skill development or personal growth,” said one mentee.
“Take the initiative to reach out and connect with potential mentors.
“Be respectful of their time and clearly articulate why you are seeking their guidance. Be willing to listen, learn and accept constructive feedback.
“Mentorship is a two-way street; be open to the mentor’s insights and experiences.”
Meanwhile, Lateral Event Management is continuing to sponsor the program for the second intake.
“We are thrilled to remain on board as the sponsor of the MEA Mentor Program,” said Lateral’s CEO Megan Peters.
“It was wonderful to see the connections made through the first rollout of the program and we look forward to providing the platform to nurture further opportunities.”
