Marina Bay Sands to add new tower and arena in Singapore
One of Singapore’s most eye-catching developments is set to get bigger.

The new tower will be an all-suite hotel tower with a 15-000-seat arena to sit between it and the existing Marina Bay Sands.

New business events space is also included in Marina Bay Sands’ expansion plans.

The integrated resort already boasts three towers with the iconic SkyPark sitting across the top of all three. The existing infrastructure is also in the second stage of a US$1.75 billion refurbishment. In addition, the Sands Expo and Convention Centre has over 120,000m2 of event space, including the largest ballroom in Southeast Asia.

“With the ongoing support of the Singapore Government, this development will further enhance the leisure and business tourism appeal of Singapore,” said Patrick Dumont, president and chief operating officer of Marina Bay Sands’ parent company, Las Vegas Sands.

“It optimises the site’s programming elements and is designed to drive high-value tourism growth to Singapore.

“The all-suite hotel tower will set new standards of hospitality, the state-of-the-art arena will help attract the highest-calibre global entertainment events and artists, and the additional convention and exhibition space will extend the success of Singapore as a leading MICE destination.

“This significant investment in Singapore will help ensure Marina Bay Sands is ideally positioned to grow its economic, employment and visitorship contributions in the years ahead.”

Construction on the new tower and arena is expected to start by July next year, with a targeted completion date of July 2029.

Since opening in 2010, 470 million people have visited Marina Bay Sands with over 1,750 new-to-Singapore business events taking place within the resort’s sizeable footprint.
