This incredible award-wining venue features artworks by Māori and Pacific artists and caters for up to 300 banquet guests or 400 guests for theatre and cocktail standing events.
Wanting something more formal? The Grand Foyer offers soaring classical columns and polished marble floors. For smaller gatherings, The Champagne Mezzanine accommodates up to 200 for a standing cocktail function, with a magnificent view over the Grand Foyer.
Under the Dome is the Museum’s spectacular top-floor conference venue, which offers banquet dining for 450 with breathtaking near 360-degree views across the city.
Nothing says ‘museum’ quite like hosting your cocktail evening or private function in The Origins Gallery, taking your guests back millions of years as they mingle amongst the Museum’s mighty native moa and dinosaurs.
If you are planning a small, private event or business meeting, our newest venue, Whaowhia is an intimate, wood-panelled art deco boardroom that seats up to 16 with AV capabilities and its own kitchenette. Finally, for lectures or conferences, the Museum’s Auditorium is a purpose-built theatre equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment.
