Perth will host the defence conference and exhibition for the first time in 2026 with support from the state government.

Land Forces 2026 International Land Defence Exposition will be held at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre and is expected to attract more than 10,000 attendees.

Hosting the event aligns with the WA Government’s ambition to grow its defence sector to be the state’s second most valuable industry after mining.

“Land Forces 2026 is a huge opportunity for Western Australian businesses to showcase their world-class expertise, connect with global defence leaders and break into international supply chains,” said WA’s defence industries minister, Paul Papalia.

“It’s about creating new jobs, attracting investment and showing that WA’s defence industry can strengthen the nation’s sovereign capability.

“The state has made the growth of the Western Australian defence industry a strategic priority in our efforts to diversify and strengthen the Western Australian economy, and this is an important step in that endeavour.”

Business Events Perth provided support to the state government to help it secure the event for WA.

Chair of Business Events Perth, Bradley Woods, said Land Forces was a “landmark event” for the state.

“Drawing high-calibre international delegates to Perth and providing substantial impact to our visitor economy, Land Forces 2026 presents a significant opportunity for Western Australian businesses to connect with international defence leaders, forge new partnerships and showcase our state,” said Woods.

“The event will create new avenues for business tourism, trade and investment, and deliver long-lasting benefits for Western Australia’s economy.”

Land Forces 2026 will take place October 6 to 8 next year.
