IHG Adelaide property bumped into premium brand
A yet-to-open hotel just outside Adelaide’s city centre has had a pre-debut upgrade.

Originally slated to be a 130-room Holiday Inn & Suites in Mawson Lakes, approximately 12km outside of the city, IHG Hotels and Resorts will now debut a 155-room Crowne Plaza Mawson Lakes in the second half of this year.

Ground was broken on the new-build hotel in May 2022.

The decision to elevate the branding of the hotel is due to a better build quality and higher than expected demand across the customer spectrum from corporates to leisure travel and event clients.

The hotel will have 442m2 of event space and is being developed through a collaboration between IHG, and joint owners Pelligra Group and ONE7.

“We are immensely proud to announce the arrival of a globally renowned hotel brand to the vibrant Mawson Lakes precinct,” said ONE7 director, Bruno Muscatello.

“This landmark addition not only signifies a momentous milestone for our company but is also a testament to our commitment to enhance the fabric of this thriving community.

“Creating a fusion of world-class hospitality with the dynamic energy of Mawson Lakes is set to produce a synergy that will not only elevate the local business and leisure landscape, but also contribute to the flourishing growth of this exceptional precinct.”

IHG Hotels & Resorts’ managing director for Australasia and the Pacific, Matt Tripolone, highlighted the hotel group’s still-growing collaboration with Pelligra Group.

“IHG and Pelligra Group share a remarkable partnership, operating three hotels together with three more in the pipeline,” he said.

“We are delighted that Ross and the Pelligra team envision such a positive outlook for the premium travel segment in Australia, leading them to invest in elevating this asset to the premium sector.”
