The technology platform uses artificial intelligence to streamline venue recommendations finely tuned to the needs of each planner and event – prioritising specific elements like accessibility, as directed, to offer the best matches to a brief.
The AI element drives more efficiency for event planners and venues using Headbox to do business, as well as Headbox’s inhouse venue-finders.
The new platform also includes an emissions calculator for planners to understand how their venue choice impacts their carbon footprint, based on delegates’ travel to the venue.
“Journeys was built into the new business events technology through demand from our corporate clients to have a clearer understanding of carbon impact when choosing their venue,” said HeadBox CEO Ali Lord.
“In our commitment to supporting them with their event planning, we wanted to also offer a tool that could support them in achieving their sustainability goals. This is the start of a really exciting path for us.”
Future iterations of the platform will take into account venues’ sustainability credentials when proposing venue options.
Originally a UK start-up, HeadBox launched in Sydney in 2021 before expanding to other Australian cities including Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Although better known as a venue finder, the business also offers event management services and was recently a finalist in the Australian Event Awards for Best Corporate Event, for a PwC event, and for Corporate Event Management Company of the Year.
