Living within FCM Travel’s own digital platform, Sam works both in a customer facing capacity as a virtual travel assistant and for travel managers behind the scenes to connect and centralise multiple data sources.
Sam can confirm airport security wait times for travellers, as well as advise on visa requirements and be called upon during a travel disruption. The AI assistant works across both desktop and mobile connections to FCM’s platform and learns from each interaction.
“Sam is a game-changer for our customers,” said FCM Travel’s global chief experience officer, John Morhous.
“This isn’t just about answering your questions – it’s about creating a travel companion that understands your preferences, simplifies complex tasks and enhances every journey.
“In a sea of sameness, Sam delivers a true alternative by empowering all our travellers, bookers and managers to focus on what matters most, while giving them the confidence that their travel needs are handled effortlessly.
“We pride ourselves on listening to the wants and needs of our customers, and this helps us to guide our innovation drive, allowing us to automate the ordinary to deliver the extraordinary.
“Unlike siloed AI systems, Sam’s shared learning environment not only empowers our customers with a conversational assistant that anticipates their needs, but also enhances our internal operations.
“By equipping our experts with enriched customer profiles and real-time insights, they can deliver our customers a faster, more impactful service. This is about making travel more rewarding and efficient for everyone involved,” said Morhous.
He also confirmed that FCM’s meetings and events subsidiary will increasingly be able to tap into Sam’s artificial intelligence.
“We are excited to be in the early stages [of] integrating our FCM Meetings & Events offerings into FCM Platform, giving customers access to best in class technology,” said Morhous.
“This marks a significant stride toward enhancing our service capabilities for events organisers. A central pillar of this integration is leveraging the Sam AI tool.
“Venue Finder is now live on FCM Platform, and we are on track to launch Meeting Requests with the Platform soon, setting the stage for a comprehensive solution tailored to meeting planners and group delegates in the new financial year.
“Our vision extends into the future, focusing on how AI can continue to enhance the event management and attendance experience over time, and we are actively exploring opportunities for further integration of Sam across FCM Meetings & Events.”
