Event win for Brisbane
Brisbane has landed a major agrifood tech event for 2025.

evokeAG. will be held at the Royal International Convention Centre in Brisbane in February 2025, with organisers expecting the largest attendance to date.

The event began in Melbourne in 2019 with the Brisbane meeting to be its fifth iteration after a two-year break during the pandemic.

Although evokeAG. has so far only been held in Australia, the event attracts an international audience with delegates from 18 countries attending the event in Adelaide in 2023. Overall attendance has also been climbing steadily since the event began – the 2019 event in Melbourne had 1,191 delegates while the 2024 gathering saw more than 1,800 delegates meet at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre last week.

For 2025, the Queensland Government is expecting up to 2,000 delegates.

“As someone who works closely with many regional communities to drive change and enhance economic opportunities in agriculture, I know that hosting evokeAG. in Brisbane next year is an opportunity to showcase the world-class AgTech that we create and harness across Queensland,” said Queensland’s chief entrepreneur, Julia Spicer.

The Queensland Government and Brisbane Economic Development Agency are both supporting the event.

“As a global leader in food innovation and technology, Brisbane is the perfect place to host AgriFutures evokeAG. event in 2025,” said Brisbane Lord Mayor, Adrian Schrinner.

“The event attracts thousands of delegates each year and will inject millions into Brisbane’s local economy.”

According to John Harvey, managing director of AgriFutures, which produces the event, “evokeAG. began as an opportunity to showcase the incredible agrifood tech innovation happening here in Australia, to hear from the rest of the world and to drive innovation in the Asia Pacific region.”
