The Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) won the association of the year category. The institute welcomed 2,800 new members and established important international partnerships.
The Change Management Institute won the small association of the year category.
Forestry Australia took home the turnaround award, in recognition of its five-year transformation to become financially stable and reverse decades of membership decline.
The Australian Medical Association was also rewarded for its ‘Clear the Hospital Logjam’ campaign, asking for more funding for public hospitals. The campaign highlighted issues with hospitals already being at or over capacity to serve their communities, resulting in long emergency and surgery wait times and overworked staff and overall increased risk to Australians at large.
“Associations are quiet achievers, and it is appropriate that the sector has an annual celebration of their achievements,” said CEO of Associations Forum John Peacock AM.
“As each association plays a somewhat isolated role in representing their sector, it is motivating for all industries to come together and hear each other’s challenges and victories.”
Associations Forum is a commercial member-based network of around 500 associations and other not-for-profit organisations. The business offers consultancy services to the association sector as part of its remit.
