A familiar face is back at ASM Global while Arinex has a new chief revenue officer and GPJ has made leadership appointments.

ASM Global appoints deputy director of business development for APAC

Tina Eggers is back at ASM Global, having been appointed to the new role of deputy director of business development at ASM Global for Asia Pacific.

Eggers will support business development for ASM Global venues as the business grows its operations in Asia Pacific and the Gulf.

ASM Global already has a strong presence in Australia and New Zealand, operating convention centres in Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin and Christchurch, as well as other venues. It operates convention and exhibition venues in Malaysia, China, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, alongside some arenas in the Middle East.

“I look forward to working with the passionate teams in the Asia Pacific and Middle East, to elevate our clients’ success and drive excellent results for the group,” said Eggers.

She was previously part of the ICC Sydney team, before joining The Venues Collection then BESydney.

“Tina joins the ASM Global APAC team bringing with her a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the business events sector having worked across all markets including during her tenure securing international conferences for Business Events Sydney and her role at ICC Sydney International Convention Centre as Senior Manager Business Development – National,” said ASM Global group director of marketing, Beverley Parker.

Joe Ciliberto has joined The Arinex Group

Arinex selects new chief revenue officer

Joe Ciliberto has joined The Arinex Group as its chief revenue officer, moving over from EventsAir where he was in the same role. Prior to that he was EventsAir’s global director for sales and marketing for five years.

“I am very excited to join The Arinex Group following Joyn’s acquisition of Arinex earlier this year,” said Ciliberto.

“The future of event management technology is a combination of services and technology that delivers inspiring experiences and Arinex is well placed to lead the way in achieving great outcomes for its clients.”

Ciliberto will lead further growth in the range of products and services available to Arinex clients, including a new Arinex event management platform, set to debut in early 2024.

“We are delighted to welcome Joe to The Arinex Group where he will be an integral, driving force in the leadership team,” said Nicole Walker, CEO of The Arinex Group.

“Joe’s skillset of strong client management and creative growth strategies, coupled with his industry networks, will be the ideal addition to the Group.”

Group chairman of The Arinex Group, Jordan Walsh said Ciliberto was the ideal candidate for the role.

“We have a unique opportunity to build technology solutions for the industry, by the industry, and Joe is incredibly well placed to help us to continue to grow rapidly,” said Walsh.

“We are continuing to build new products and having Joe lead the launch of the new Arinex product is incredibly exciting.”

Gavin Link has been promoted at George P. Johnson

Leadership appointments at George P. Johnson

At GPJ ANZ, a promotion and a return to the agency sees two new faces on the leadership team.

Gavin Link has been promoted to director of live production for APAC while Trish McNamara will take up the role of head of integrated production for GPJ ANZ.

Link has two decades of experience, including working on major international events like the 2012 London Olympics and delivering corporate events featuring headline international artists such as Beyoncé and John Legend. Before joining the ANZ team at GPJ two and a half years ago, Link spent more than seven years as an executive producer for GPJ in the USA, shaping the live production department there.

In his new role, Link will focus on live and broadcast shows for GPJ in the Asia Pacific region.

“With GPJ’s stellar reputation for delivering best-in-class experiences, I am eager to contribute my extensive global experience in producing large-scale shows,” said Link.

“Together, we will elevate our technical production, show producing, production design and broadcast capabilities to create unforgettable shows and set new standards in the industry.”

McNamara, who has previously worked with GPJ as a consultant, will lead integrated production, comprising live, digital, content and registration, with her responsibilities including overseeing strategic growth, alignment and ways of working for this department.

McNamara has more than 15 years’ experience in events, including with Jack Moreton Worldwide, Telstra, ANZ, Kat&Co and Business Australia.

“GPJ has a reputation for pushing boundaries and delivering innovative campaigns, and I look forward to leading the integrated production team in creating experiences that drive results for our clients,” she said.
