Opening on the Newcastle harbourfront on Honeysuckle Drive, the hotel is close to Newcastle’s main train station and less than 10 minutes’ walk from Newcastle Exhibition and Convention Centre (NEX), under 15 minutes’ walk from Civic Theatre Newcastle and just 3km from the Newcastle Entertainment Centre, all of which can host business events.
With 181 compact rooms, the hotel has the largest number of guest rooms of any hotel in Newcastle, which would suit business events groups wishing to stay together.
“Little National Newcastle marks the third venture hotel in Australia, and stands as a testament to DOMA’s commitment to providing an affordable luxury hotel experience,” said DOMA managing director, Jure Domazet. DOMA owns the Little National brand.
“We have had a presence in the Newcastle region for over 12 years now, so we were thrilled to be able to reconnect with local operators and contribute to Newcastle’s emerging hospitality precinct.”
Known for offering compact luxury, Little National Newcastle’s standard rooms are 18m2 however there are also large apartment rooms measuring 36-37m2. The hotel also offers small meeting rooms for up to 15 people.

There are already Little National hotels in Canberra and Sydney with an Adelaide property expected to open next year.
In recent years Newcastle has seen an influx of higher end hotel openings, including Crystalbrook Kingsley and QT Newcastle.
